The project Discotronic was founded in 2006 – during the golden era of the Hands Up genre.
Their debut single “Tricky Disco” quickly became a club hit across Europe and is now
considered a classic of its genre. Over the years, the track has seen numerous remixes and
cover versions.
Between 2006 and 2013, Discotronic released a series of singles, all under the German label
Mental Madness Records. During this time, they were also highly active as remixers,
working on tracks by artists such as DJ Manian, Brooklyn Bounce, Yanou, Basshunter, and
many others.
Following their last release in 2013, Discotronic took a break while the producers focused on
other projects.
In 2023, the Hands Up sound experienced a revival – and the original 2006 version of “Tricky
Disco” went viral on TikTok. Inspired by the renewed interest, the two producers decided to
revive the project after more than a decade.
In August 2025, Discotronic released a brand-new version of their 2010 track “To The Moon
And Back” on the Dutch label Rave Culture.
More releases are already in the pipeline.
