Disturbed Furniture was an integral part of the vibrant art and music scene that animated the storied downtown East Village of the 80’s. Born in the legendary basement venue, Club 57, Disturbed Furniture reformed some two years ago to perform live as well as write and record new music. They were inspired by their music’s inclusion in the Museum of Modern Art’s exhibit about the East Village performance scene of the era. The first release of this new chapter for the band is “Continuous Pleasures”, a five song EP, featuring original artwork by Kenny Scharf, is available on vinyl and CD at www.disturbedfurniture.com Recorded in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, reuniting original members Jorge Arevalo (guitar), Alexa Hunter (vocals) and Mick Oakleaf (drums), along with guest bassist Shin Sakaino, the EP features new songs and fresh recordings from the group’s original repertoire.
