Deeply rooted in the culture of São Paulo, Brazilian artist Guiu (G) infuses tradition into everything he creates. Internationally recognized as a dancer, choreographer, educator, DJ and producer, his label Sambanismo collaborates the essence of Brazilian culture with the excitement of new musical traditions. Already known for his choreographic direction and workshops G was inspired by a chance meeting with Parisian artist Sam One and the invitation to join his HOUSE 4 YOU label. This quickly shifted the artist’s focus from dance to the creation of dance music, including production collaborations with Chicago artists, Russoul & Pullman Porters, as well as various musicians from his home city of São Paulo including Orixás Drummer Jet Viana. He has appeared at renowned clubs such as Djoon, in Paris, Cielo in NYC and MiCasaHoliday in Playa de Carmen and can be found providing the musical landscape for prestigious dance battles with Juste Debout, Red Bull, Pura Calle and more. Singles and remixes are widely available on Azucar, Sambanismo, Merecumbe Recordings, Open Bar Music, and his first full-length album Solace will be available on all major platforms in 2020.
