Doc E.C. is the Leader of the NEW Old School — blending classic soul, slow jam romance, and grown-man storytelling. Born in Port Arthur, Texas — hometown of Janis Joplin, UGK, and Zachary Breaux — and now based near Tallahassee, Doc was raised by a classically trained choral director and immersed in music from gospel to funk.
In high school, he formed a band called Slique and began crafting love-driven originals inspired by Prince, The Time, New Edition, and Babyface. Songs like “Real Love,” “Trust Our Love,” and “Gangster of Love” were born during those early years and now anchor his album Love Changes — a project years in the making.
After time away from the industry, Doc returns as an independent artist with a purpose: revive the soul, restore the romance, and lead a movement rooted in love and real music.
