Formed in 2013, Don Kipper have always been propelled by the deeply rooted music traditions of the Balkans and Mediterranean.
Today, we are super-charging these traditions, steeping our music in bass heavy beats, electronic sounds and neon synth riffs.
Since 2013, we've played hundreds of gigs, performed as the BBC Introducing act at WOMAD, released our first three albums, been featured on BBC Radio 3 and the BBC World Service, toured all over Europe, won the titles of both the Moshe Beregovski Award for best Klezmer Newcomers and World Music Network’s Battle of the Bands, been nominated for Best Fusion Act in the Songlines World Music Awards 2019, and received glowing reviews nationally and internationally, including from the Guardian, Evening Standard, Economist, Financial Times, and the Australian.
