In 2017 members of the outfit to be known forthwith as Doobie Fontaine assembled in a west London studio to record what was to be the group’s debut EP. With hopes high and focus low the effort was of course shelved several weeks later, but a musical synergy was established, and the outfit endured.
In the months since, the group have become underground favourites on London’s diverse live circuit. In essence a collective alter ego for its revolving cast of players, Doobie Fontaine is spearheaded by songwriter Jack Oliver, guitarists Simon Shields and Toto Vivian, and bass player, Kyrone Oak.
Tapping into a sonic landscape that stretches between the nostalgic haze of Laurel Canyon to the more dulcet, if self-aware, psychedelia of the present-day, with just a dab of cosmic country, the band released a string of singles in 2019, and have announced a debut album forthcoming in 2020
