b. 20 January 1937, Deadwood, South Dakota, USA. An actress and singer who made a number of films in the late 50s and early 60s, including The Bonnie Parker Story, It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, That Darn Cat, The Great Race, One Spy Too Many and Kiss The Girl And Make Them Die, but gained her greatest success on television. She played opposite Rex Reason in The Roaring Twenties which ran for 45 episodes on the 1960-61 season. Her depiction of the singing, dancing flapper was outstanding, and her interpretations of songs of the era led to her making a number of briefly popular records, including ‘Don’t Bring Lulu’, ‘Crazy Words-Crazy Tune’, and the catchy ‘Frankfurter Sandwiches’. By the late 60s, her film career had stalled and she drifted from public view.
