That's what the press - and a bit of Oasis - thought of previous Douglas Firs albums, and the good news: there is a new record. 'Happy Pt. 2' follows 'Heart of a Mother', the poignant mourning album about Gertjan's deceased mother, and is about finding happiness again after deep sorrow, but without letting go of that feeling. Loss remains, but there is also hope and energy to be heard again. Gertjan and his brother Sem went to L.A. to mix the record with Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Ray Lamontagne), because Happy Pt. 2 is about: embracing life, and adventure.
