Douyé is a Nigerian born jazz recording artist based in Los Angeles, CA, U.S.A. Like a breath of fresh air, her sound is unique, sophisticated and captivating; Douyé stands out. Her presentation in styling of songs is distinct and alluring, she brings life to the songs that she sings. Douyé is also a songwriter. Prior to coming into the jazz world, she self released her debut classic R&B album in 2017 titled "Journey." In 2014, she released her second album titled "So Much Love." under her label, Groove Note Records/BBM. So Much Love album track title is a tribute song to the legendary Fela Kuti. So Much Love features fine musicians Rick Braun, Eric Marienthal, Andy Sync, Philippe Saisse, Ricky Lawson and more. The album was mixed by Ray Bardani and Mastered by Bernie Grundman. Both the album Journey and So Much Love gained great attention worldwide. Douyé and her co-writer Terry Shaddick wrote all the songs on both albums. In 2015, Douyé made a distinct decision to move onto being a jazz singer. She followed a promise that she had made to her late father on becoming a jazz musician. Daddy Said So lasted on the Jazz weekly charts for over 25 weeks consecutively. Daddy Said So features celebrated jazz musicians as Ron Carter, Kenny Barron, Russell Malone, John Beasley, John Clayton, Roy McCurdy and more. Douyé continues her promising artistry in jazz and is currently working on her next project with a release date to be announced shortly.
