Pianist, composer, and medical Doctor, Jess Duckworth, was born in 1994. Her Grandfather would compose and play for her as a young child and this captured her interest and imagination from an early age. At the age of 18 she pursued medicine as a career but never left behind her desire and need to write and play music.
Wherever there was a piano present, whether in a Hospital, a care home or at a train station Jess would play. She became known by fellow Doctors and patients as 'The Piano Doctor'.
As part of her medical research Jess studied the impact of music on the hospital waiting room. During this time she wrote music for the project and began to understand the importance of melody and harmony on the mood of a waiting room and the mental state of the patients within. This formed the basis for her first collection of songs "The Piano Doctor", songs of reflection and contemplation.
After a challenging year working throughout the pandemic Jess followed up in 2022 with "The Piano Doctor II - A Year of Reflective Piano Music".
