Over the last 3 decades, American composer Joel Christian Goffin has explored a variety of musical genres and techniques.
Starting with classical influences, Joel began writing his own music in elementary school by composing variations of classical composers. In middle school and high school, electronic music became a fascination that eventually bridged his work into composing music for dozens of films in the last decade. The <a href="spotify:playlist:3S6XiFq0Oe7QdKdPFZkeSf" data-name="Heat Soundtrack (1995)">Heat Soundtrack (1995)</a> was a major catalyst into the curiosity of the film world. By 2007, Joel had written and performed music at a number of music venues such as the first annual Treasure Island Music festival and had been featured on LA radio shows like <a href="spotify:artist:5eKLa1xyHLq8ERWmT1CRHj" data-name="The Crystal Method">The Crystal Method</a> "Community Service" on KTLA.
In 2008, the transition to composing music for film began. By 2020, Joel had composed the original music for over 25 films, along with winning multiple awards in various soundtrack categories.
Recently, Joel has embarked upon his latest album "Silhouettes and Shadows." The album is an intimate group of pieces he has composed, based upon his love of both traditional and modern classical variations and inspired by a recent live performance by one of his favorite modern classical groups <a href="spotify:artist:0M6xcJTswOl2qvExCJhiS3" data-name="Kronos Quartet">Kronos Quartet</a>.
