Cinematic pop duo Dusty Trails teamed former <a href="spotify:artist:1EcRE2Nnqg2spdn2otakhg">Luscious Jackson</a> keyboardist Vivian Trimble and onetime <a href="spotify:artist:1xgFexIwrf2QjbU0buCNnp">Breeders</a> bassist <a href="spotify:artist:086jKULFviWvDwM4evJgIP">Josephine Wiggs</a>. The two first met in 1993, when <a href="spotify:artist:1EcRE2Nnqg2spdn2otakhg">Luscious Jackson</a> supported <a href="spotify:artist:1xgFexIwrf2QjbU0buCNnp">the Breeders</a> on their European tour; two years later, when Trimble teamed with bandmate <a href="spotify:artist:4Vr73Mb0CocpmJgmjueqsy">Jill Cunniff</a> in the side project Kostars, the duo tapped <a href="spotify:artist:4XN705i9fhzc7C1BX2Bea5">Wiggs</a> to produce their debut record, Klassics with a K. While <a href="spotify:artist:4XN705i9fhzc7C1BX2Bea5">Wiggs</a> went on to release a solo record, 1996's Bon Bon Life, Trimble remained with <a href="spotify:artist:1EcRE2Nnqg2spdn2otakhg">Luscious Jackson</a> until leaving the group in the spring of 1998; Dusty Trails was born out of their mutual admiration for classic movie soundtracks, with the project marking Trimble's debut as lead vocalist.
