duvet day blend together elements of indie, pop, funk, jazz, prog and rock to bring a vibrant, fresh sound to your ears

founded at the university of leeds by andy (singer, guitar) and toby (guitar) and nurtured in warehouses in manchester through the addition of tim (drums) and cameron (bass), the band are launching onto the scene with their first single: Penultimate Rush

Penultimate Rush started life as toby’s upbeat, dancey riff and chanty, layered vocal line. combined with andy’s 7/4 section, the song blends themes of frantic energy, intrigue and excitement

echoing this, andy’s lyrics capture the feeling of the anxiety and anticipation of knowing you'll be short of time for a future journey and being powerless to act on it. you can be overwhelmed and entirely captured by the idea of being late and its consequences, but have the perseverance to push through anyway

the track also plays on the idea that the word 'rush' holds the euphoric meaning and your next one is your final rush…
