DVO, also known as Amir Haghparast, is a Persian-Canadian singer and songwriter based near Toronto, Canada. Gifted with a rare ability to perceive music in vivid colors, shapes, and emotions, he experiences sound in a multisensory way—a phenomenon known as synesthesia. When he hears music, it triggers a visual and emotional response, allowing him to create a truly unique sound.
Raised in a family of Iranian immigrants, his father was a civil construction engineer, while his mother balanced her role as a teacher and full-time caregiver. DVO's musical journey was deeply influenced by his idols—Drake, The Weeknd, Jay Sean, Massari, and Belly—but it was a personal tragedy that ultimately led him to pursue music. After his father's life-altering accident, DVO turned to songwriting as an outlet to process his pain and frustration.
He began writing music at 17, quickly discovering that his bilingual abilities enabled him to sing in both English and Farsi. Over time, DVO has carved a unique path in the music industry, continually breaking new records and surpassing goals with each passing month.
