Murphy’s journey began at the age of seven when a family member told her that she wasn’t smart enough to learn the guitar. What started as a mission to prove them wrong quickly blossomed into a passion for songwriting, finding ways of expressing her complex emotions and life experiences in song. Today she hopes to use her own encounters with mental illness to make others feel less alone in their own struggles by putting words to painful but widely-felt experiences.
