Singer-songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:3G4sBfHKeWfyWuBR1YDStp" data-name="Tom Ashton">Tom Ashton</a> founded the power pop/pop punk outfit Early Edison. They've shared the stage with <a href="spotify:artist:6kXp61QMZFPcKMcRPqoiVj" data-name="Gin Blossoms">Gin Blossoms</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2aS6jYh7ysTL1ZUsHneNgM" data-name="Berlin">Berlin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5CT7RBitS0e0u78T8tRBWQ" data-name="Missing Persons">Missing Persons</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0oQLexIBY9SlMhtbSIPFAO" data-name="The Alarm">The Alarm</a> and were championed on SiriusXM by <a href="spotify:artist:0M9n1PZNvicgGQby4zLbwQ" data-name="Pat Dinizio">Pat Dinizio</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:06KgaEpSluofkcChSo7TNr" data-name="The Smithereens">The Smithereens</a>). Their song “Demographically Pleasing” was named Pop Song of the Year by Newsday and was featured on their debut album co-produced by Tony Maimone (<a href="spotify:artist:3V4FPipSnuYjtHnnAw9cZd" data-name="Pere Ubu">Pere Ubu</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0fWvSXbvztkeHEnEuYvU2A" data-name="Bob Mould">Bob Mould</a>) and mixed by Joel Hamilton (<a href="spotify:artist:2pqd3HsfsvcBGtHvPOg6eg" data-name="Highly Suspect">Highly Suspect</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:193xIEtje6LUhfsFZvGjpM" data-name="Blakroc">Blakroc</a>).
Their subsequent album “Better Late Than Never" was co-produced by Ashton and bassist Tom Wendling and featured production contributions by Grammy-winning producer Patrick Dillett (<a href="spotify:artist:6zB02lwP6L6ZH32nggQiJT" data-name="They Might Be Giants">They Might Be Giants</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:20vuBdFblWUo2FCOvUzusB" data-name="David Byrne">David Byrne</a>). Several songs were featured in TV/films including “Burn The Boats” (My Boss’s Daughter), “New Distraction” (A View From The Top), “Lies Like You” (Tru Calling).
New songs were mastered by Fred Kevorkian (<a href="spotify:artist:4F84IBURUo98rz4r61KF70" data-name="The White Stripes">The White Stripes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6zKkaqMGGmaKLUSLTcsrls" data-name="Jesse Malin">Jesse Malin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2cCUtGK9sDU2EoElnk0GNB" data-name="The National">The National</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:33EUXrFKGjpUSGacqEHhU4" data-name="Iggy Pop">Iggy Pop</a>).
