The first female rapper to emerge from St. Louis, MO, on a major label, Ebony Eyez released her debut album in 2005 in affiliation with the TrackBoyz production team. Born Ebony Williams in St. Louis, she made her commercial recording debut in 2004 with the song "Show Your Ass" on the album Hood Hop by J-Kwon, with whom she shared management. In the aftermath of J-Kwon's smash hit "Tipsy," Ebony Eyez was signed to a major-label recording contract with Capitol Records and began collaborating with the TrackBoyz, a local production team comprised of Mark Williams and Joe Kent. Initially, the "Tipsy" producers teamed up J-Kwon and Ebony Eyez once again for "Get XXX'd," a song written for the 2005 film XXX: State of the Union. The full-length album debut of Ebony Eyez, 7 Day Cycle, followed later in the year. Featuring the singles "In Ya Face" (whose remix features Trina) and "Take Me Back" (featuring 112), 7 Day Cycle was only a modest success, reaching number 137 on the Billboard albums chart, and little was heard of Ebony Eyez thereafter. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
