Edwin is an alt-folk band formed by Jacob and Matthew Boll who split their time between Chicago and Los Angeles. Intricate guitar, ethereal instrumentation, pedal steel, light synth, interweaving harmony, and a solid dry beat build the core of Edwin's new album West. This core supports the singers at the center of the songs. Jacob and Matthew deliver deep, introspective, and honest lyrics that dig for meaning with voices that are vulnerable yet unwavering.
Edwin began recording the songs for West in the beginning of 2020. Every song from the record was recorded remotely, Matthew from the wilderness of Michigan and Jacob from sunny L.A. What started as a small 'acoustic' project quickly expanded as their friends and collaborators joined them from their own homes, recording over the internet, to contribute to the album.
