<a href="spotify:artist:21x2fI8SRlBVlhiUr7Or1E" data-name="Elastic No-No Band">Elastic No-No Band</a> was a part of the New York Anti-Folk scene (see: <a href="spotify:playlist:5FO5Nk2sLpoxz3Rp9P5f30" data-name="The REAL Sound of Anti-Folk">The REAL Sound of Anti-Folk</a>) from 2004 to 2011. "The Deli" magazine once dubbed them "NYC Antifolk's <a href="spotify:artist:6ra4GIOgCZQZMOaUECftGN" data-name="Frank Zappa">Frank Zappa</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3P2gYnypDVi90ZavnaAhfL" data-name="The Mothers Of Invention">The Mothers Of Invention</a>."
Led by singer-songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:5tSCdH3SaJfPFPv5pbSrdy" data-name="Justin Remer">Justin Remer</a>, the "band" initially started as a solo home-recording project. This grew to a trio, which included <a href="spotify:artist:27QnILvIkbLqXzxEzPmSLQ" data-name="Preston Spurlock">Preston Spurlock</a> on bass and Herb Scher (of <a href="spotify:artist:1bKqPbT0zMyfmHQjjKDOiN" data-name="Herb Scher and the Key Lime Pie Revue">Herb Scher and the Key Lime Pie Revue</a>) on keyboards. For their first "proper" studio album, <a href="spotify:album:7FkkfIueUqUmIpIr56OWOu" data-name="My 3 Addictions">My 3 Addictions</a> (2007), Doug Johnson joined the band on drums. Later, John Mulcahy (of <a href="spotify:artist:6RcIJulpT5GzOqIb75JV88" data-name="The Telethons">The Telethons</a>) joined the band on electric guitar.
The band's magnum opus is the 2010 45-track double album, <a href="spotify:album:2YElrXxTrwLZY7l50b9NWO" data-name="Fustercluck!!! - Part 1">Fustercluck!!! - Part 1</a> & <a href="spotify:album:1QLtYCwYyE2q6qShUqtwV3" data-name="Fustercluck!!! - Part 2">Fustercluck!!! - Part 2</a>. A mish-mash of studio, home, and live recordings, Fustercluck!!! also featured guest appearances from <a href="spotify:artist:16DUsfvaBkVw1Rij74ZaRt" data-name="Nan Turner">Nan Turner</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:4xubGkDugXV3AcCMoeLJZB" data-name="Schwervon!">Schwervon!</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7BKAiz4IH0VYUBG2ImEOWP" data-name="Toby Goodshank">Toby Goodshank</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:7GGv4mV9JTJK9e7nIzUliU" data-name="The Moldy Peaches">The Moldy Peaches</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5ZWHEFolveKJpzm9Cbd5ml" data-name="Brook Pridemore">Brook Pridemore</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4530Z2YZm8uH7c4vrqCXa7" data-name="Thomas Patrick Maguire">Thomas Patrick Maguire</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2KaMf1ZHcfliAXvf4xFFxA" data-name="Debe Dalton">Debe Dalton</a>, and other friends from the Anti-Folk scene.
The band contributed to a 4-group "exquisite corpse" recording of <a href="spotify:artist:7dnB1wSxbYa8CejeVg98hz" data-name="Meat Loaf">Meat Loaf</a>'s "<a href="spotify:track:1TgEhPlKeLinyDCOX2u2s9" data-name="Paradise by the Dashboard Light">Paradise by the Dashboard Light</a>" in 2011, but slowly ground to a halt, with the release of a live album, <a href="spotify:album:5S2cX5gd6xVdERTiTDusrF" data-name="Charmingly Shambolic And Mostly Live">Charmingly Shambolic And Mostly Live</a> (also in 2011), and a final "odds and sods" compilation, <a href="spotify:album:2vyXHzOBPyUIwGhcWKGEvh" data-name="Black No-No's">Black No-No's</a>, in 2012.
In 2020, Fustercluck!!! was re-ordered, partially remixed, and remastered for its 10th anniversary as <a href="spotify:album:0AIqXV5mazEbmcEKkXdQCe" data-name="Decayed: A Re-Fuster-Dux Deluxe">Decayed: A Re-Fuster-Dux Deluxe</a>.
