Elias Kahila began playing the cello in 1991 at the age of 7 under the guidance of Ewa Tracz-Lejman. In 2003, he started developing a blues-based cello technique, including the "shuffle bow technique." In June 2020, Kahila became the first blues cellist to reach number one on Finland’s official physical album chart. This was with JP Leppäluoto's album "Piilevää Pimeää," where Kahila played all the cello parts and also composed and arranged on tracks. Including streaming plays, the album reached number 3 on Finland's official charts. Throughout his career, Kahila has collaborated with many notable artists, including Antti Railio, Costello Hautamäki, Antti Kleemola, Katri Ylander, Antony Parviainen, Dingo, Neumann, Sani, Grammy-winning jazz pianist Marian Petrescu, and Bill Öhrström.
