Elijah Ford is a California native turned Austin-based musician, songwriter & producer. He is no stranger to the industry, as both of his parents have been life-long musicians. Elijah is the son of <a href="spotify:artist:5OKH5D3pnex9U9n7BFLEbe" data-name="Marc Ford">Marc Ford</a> (former guitar heavyweight for <a href="spotify:artist:5krkohEVJYw0qoB5VWwxaC" data-name="The Black Crowes">The Black Crowes</a>) and toured as part of Ford Sr’s <a href="spotify:album:1gVNtlopgRnjLL4s3BPyHC" data-name="Fuzz Machine">Fuzz Machine</a> at the age of 17, before getting the gig with Oscar and Grammy award winner <a href="spotify:artist:31z9f9AyPawiq0qlBO1M3i" data-name="Ryan Bingham">Ryan Bingham</a>, where he stayed until 2012.
In 2014, Elijah opened for + accompanied Ford Sr on the EU, UK & US tours for Marc’s <a href="spotify:album:2xwzwcSid0P0NM1GewnYFZ" data-name="Holy Ghost">Holy Ghost</a> LP. After working with producer Stew Jackson (<a href="spotify:artist:6FXMGgJwohJLUSr5nVlf9X" data-name="Massive Attack">Massive Attack</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:110PPeTewBZP0UviVrAPbh" data-name="Phantom Limb">Phantom Limb</a>) on Holy Ghost, Elijah invited him to Austin's Arlyn Studios to produce his second album, <a href="spotify:album:5q86glHguXPCn2lOfyiGEL" data-name="As You Were">As You Were</a>. Along with 5 other songwriters, Ford was selected to be part of ATX6’s 2016 class, a program that exports Austin’s talent to international music festivals and documents the journey.
While on tour with <a href="spotify:artist:75BOjZHMIGsRcVeahOXRlp" data-name="Juanita Stein">Juanita Stein</a> supporting <a href="spotify:artist:0C0XlULifJtAgn6ZNCW2eu" data-name="The Killers">The Killers</a> in 2018, Elijah & Killers touring member Jake Blanton (<a href="spotify:artist:5WUlDfRSoLAfcVSX1WnrxN" data-name="Sia">Sia</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6KJIIOCWsWtNc7ICINtPEw" data-name="Jonathan Wilson">Jonathan Wilson</a>) struck up a friendship that quickly turned into a creative partnership. Elijah’s planned LP evolved to become an entirely separate album written, performed & produced by Ford & Blanton, fueled by remote co-writes and off the cuff in-studio explorations. Recorded at Austin’s Public Hi-Fi by Brad Bell (<a href="spotify:artist:0K1q0nXQ8is36PzOKAMbNe" data-name="Spoon">Spoon</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6g0mn3tzAds6aVeUYRsryU" data-name="The War On Drugs">The War On Drugs</a>) and mixed by Sean Cook (<a href="spotify:artist:4mLJ3XfOM5FPjSAWdQ2Jk7" data-name="Dr. Dog">Dr. Dog</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7bcbShaqKdcyjnmv4Ix8j6" data-name="St. Vincent">St. Vincent</a>), this evolving collection of songs are being shared in the spirit they were made, for the love of it.
