Elisabetta Previati is an Italian singer-songwriter currently based in Zurich. Inspired by poetry, literature and nature, she weaves voices, stories, and harmonies into evocative soundscapes, blending folk, world music, vocal polyphony, and subtle touches of electronics.
Raised on ancient music and Italian songwriters, her training includes jazz, ethnic, and contemporary singing, as well as a Master’s in Artistic Vocality. Over the years, she has founded and directed various vocal projects — including Le Nuvole and Desde el alma — for which she writes original vocal arrangements. Her work explores the expressive potential of the voice, moving between tradition and experimentation.
Antiche melodie d’amore is her debut album as a singer-songwriter: a collection of original songs in Italian and English, inspired by love in all its forms, the feeling of distance from her homeland, and the literary works of Emily Dickinson, Zelda Fitzgerald, and Yasunari Kawabata.
Recorded in Puglia (Italy) with an acoustic and organic approach, the album features renowned musicians from the world music scene and a special collaboration with Welsh singer-songwriter The Gentle Good. The refined and emotionally rich arrangements are by multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Chiapparino.
