Elme

Elme is the recording project of singer-songwriter and producer Thommy Wilson.


Wilson began his music career at 15, writing and recording music with his brother. After spending some time touring Europe and Australia as a professional dancer, he returned to music; using his multifaceted understanding of beat and rhythm to experiment with his music production. Wilson later shared demos with Woodes, who encouraged him to begin releasing his music - the conversation was a catalyst for the development of what would later become ‘Elme’. Collaborating with Melbourne contemporaries Elkkle, Woodes and Edvard Hakansson, Wilson shared his first single, ‘The Missing Piece’, under the moniker Elme in 2018, later releasing his second single ‘Kids’ in 2019.


With a vocal character rooted in singer-songwriter origins, Elme’s sound has evolved to blend elements of electronica and pop with his love of acoustic guitar and piano. Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, musical and otherwise, Elme’s music delivers captivating friction between sound textures, thoughts and colours to mirror the world around him. His velvety vocals, permeating melodies and lyrical nuance anchor his atmospheric production style. Elme’s new single, ‘Somewhere’, continues these sonic conventions, using them as a vehicle to examine the necessity of balancing the highs and lows of life.
