Embahn is the psychedelic-folk project of Emily Steuer. Based in Minneapolis, MN, she is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and principal songwriter for Embahn.
Steuer’s recorded work showcases her love for layering harmonies and multiple instrumental arrangements. Deeply personal and uniquely her own, Steuer’s music is inspired by the human experience and mysticism. Embahn explores fragility and experimentation through her music, creating dreamlike songs.
Most notably, Embahn is recognized for their 90’s rock and psychedelic-folk characteristics. Steuer often utilizes finger-style picking, delay and chorus effects, doubled, and reverbed vocals. Her soft but substantial voice weaves songs that the listener can enjoy and feel.
Capturing the swirling, chaotic and beautiful nature of the world through odd time signatures and a myriad of tunings, Embahn channels these sentiments into her songs. Embahn's debut album is currently in the works.
