Active in the mid-Nineties, EMERY was a post-hardcore band hailing from Southern California’s Inland Empire. From bedroom rehearsal spaces, EMERY crafted a blend of screamy, often melodic, guitar-driven emo. EMERY played throughout Southern California at popular venues of the era such as the Jabberjaw, Che Café, and the Huntington Beach Library; sharing bills with emo greats like Christie Front Drive, Boys Life, Giants Chair, Boilermaker, Evergreen, Julia, Nuzzle, Ex-Ignota, and Still Life. Between 1994-96, EMERY released a two-song 7” single, then a split 7” single with Jimmy Eat World and recorded various studio tracks not released at the time. Thirty years later, EMERY’s unreleased studio recordings are available for the first time as a posthumous LP, EMERY 94-96 on DIMENSIONAL PROJECTS.
