SNAIL is a 4-piece post-hardcore rock group from Belmont, NC. The band's sound features distorted guitars, angular riffing, rock-solid & inventive drumming and passionate vocal performances. Influenced by groups like <a href="spotify:artist:4YjpqCSDD7zwMQgPYJMqb0" data-name="Unwound">Unwound</a> and other alternative acts from the 90s, Snail recalls a DIY spirit. With studio recordings verging on chaotic, feedbacking energy, the band is worth the listen.
Band members include singer Grayson Hauck, drummer Griffin Hanosh, guitarist Harvey Sladden, and bassist Brodie Perry. After all meeting/playing with each other in the winter of 2024 at Belmont Abbey College they began playing many local shows in the Charlotte, NC area at venues such as the famous Milestone Club.
The band released their first single <a href="spotify:album:2F4KbnKboesL4x6L4BkNX8" data-name="Isotope">Isotope</a> in Feb ‘25 which features an easily recognizable Snail riff. This release was followed by their debut album <a href="spotify:album:3mqDcAWds5IWPcw35suWaB" data-name="Ontology">Ontology</a> in April of the same year. The album’s nine tracks give a great variety of material, from raw, driving tracks to spaced-out, dreamy sounds. All releases produced/engineered by Pete Hayes, formerly the guitarist of Charlotte band <a href="spotify:artist:6mVEYENK36KS3jNpfA0sIh" data-name="Ink Swell">Ink Swell</a>.
The group went their separate ways at the end of the college year. Lookout for a potential reunion in years to come!
