Emilie Nicolas released her debut single “Pstereo” in 2013, and made an immediate impact on the Norwegian music scene. Her debut album Like I’m a warrior (2014) went straight to number one on the Norwegian album chart. She went on receiving two Spellemann awards (Norwegian Grammy). Following the release, Emilie went on touring Norway and Europe. With a unique textual universe, a great sense of melody and an intriguing stage presence – she captivated audiences everywhere, and was considered one of Norway’s most exciting and promising pop acts. Amid all these positive events, Emilie suddenly went quiet. Illness forced her to take a break from music and limelight.
In 2018 she returned, with the album Tranquille Emile. It received rave reviews and two Spellemann Awards. She went on touring extensively, culminating in two sold-out nights at the Oslo Opera House.
Emilie Nicolas released her third album Let Her Breathe in 2020. Here she experimented even further within the unique brand of electronic pop. Uniting elements of pop, R&B and electronica – all wrapped in the sensibility of jazz – the album succinctly captured despair, unbridled joy, and the desire to dance.
No longer simply a purveyor of "cool pop", Emilie is intent on bringing her fans even deeper into her world. Writing from a more honest and reflective place than ever before – her appetite for musical creativity is indisputably at its peak and more exciting things are to come.
