Emily Bear is a Grammy and Emmy Award-winning composer and songwriter, celebrated for her groundbreaking contributions to music and storytelling. Alongside her writing partner, Abigail Barlow, she co-wrote the soundtrack for Moana 2, released in November to critical acclaim and record-breaking box office success. Together, they made history as the youngest duo and the only female songwriting team to compose an entire soundtrack for a Disney animated film.

While Bear was still in single digits, she performed her own works on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, Montreux Jazz Festival and the White House. At just nine years old, her mentor, Quincy Jones, produced her chart-topping original jazz album, Diversity.

In 2022, Bear won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical, which she co-wrote with Barlow. Bear co-wrote, produced and orchestrated the album, which reached the top five albums worldwide. That same year, Bear earned an Emmy Award for her original score for the PBS documentary Life Centered and was recognized on Forbes’s prestigious 30 Under 30 list.

Bear’s accomplishments extend to film and television, where she has composed scores for multiple Netflix feature films, Hulu projects and several indie projects. Two of these reached #1 on Netflix worldwide. She also joined Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour as her featured pianist.
