With members Eestbound, Milly Manson and Pree, EMP culturally represent the face of a new Toronto (with lineage that traces back to Europe, The Caribbean and Sri Lanka respectively).
Having been the lead producer on Travis Scott’s platinum smash hit “Antidote” (along with collaborator and friend WondaGurl), Eestbound’s signature sonics tie together the group’s futuristic sound. Dominated by banging drums and laser sharp synths, Eest’s music theory fuses the elements flawlessly. Of the group, “EMP is creativity at its peak,” says Eestbound. “Sonically, we feel we are creativity at its best. There’s no rules, no limits... If it sounds good, it sounds good.”
Milly Manson injects the aggression of Jamaica, while spitting relentlessly about his life in the GTA. Pree is a total representation of a young singer and rapper who rebelled from the sometimes constricted lifestyle of a traditional Sri Lankan household. With Milly Manson and Pree’s unique and engaging vocals, EMP successfully capturesthe vibe of today and tomorrow’s youth.“Being in a group is cool because we're all experiencing this for the first time together, adding 3 different perspectives into our music,” says Pree. “We feel like we are the true reflection of the kids in the world today.
