Hailing from the mecca of hip-hop, East Atlanta to be exact, Zip K is a rapper/songwriter with a sound you’ve never heard. In 2015, Zip released “404 Error,” a full-length project that featured heavy-hitters like 6lack and Cyhi The Prynce. Following “404 Error,” he slowed and smoothed things down with his EP “Rotten Peaches” in 2016. Fast forward to 2023, Zip K’s return album creates an open, vulnerable space for fans to connect and relate to heartache. "PBJ", which stands for Post Break-up Jams, details intensely relatable feelings like love, lust, sorrow, bargaining, disappointment, regret, and resilience. The elements of sweet and crunchy. The stickiness of butters and jellies that melds bonds, yet is easily severed with a knife. This is the sound of love's bittersweet reality.
