“You could call it music but it’s more like a feeling you get when you finally let yourself GO THERE. It’s more like a palette of indulgent moods mixed w/an occasional bass drop.” - The band describing their fun, multi-genre mix of tunes.
Whitney M. Henson and Rachel Anne Rosson met in their early 20s & played together in a Prog Rock band for nearly 8 years. They decided to move to Nashville to pursue music full-time in 2019 when the band called it quits. The 2 remaining members decided to keep trying as a duo and made a demo in a rental house in East Nashville that would change the course of their lives. By chance of fate they were connected to celebrated pop artist, producer, and Berkeley graduate, Míchia, who decided to take them under his wing during the global pandemic of 2020 when all 3 were suddenly out of work. Míchia produced their first 4-track EP, High Vibez, during spring and summer of 2020. The band altered its name from the previous Prog band name, The Empress, to Emperatrix, to embody the addition of the electronic/pop elements & the Latin influence of the Colombian raised/half German producer. Expect to feel, dance, smile, and think about it all with this EP. Each track represents one stage or "life cycle" on your way to growth and enlightenment or "raise your vibration;" hence the name, High Vibez.
