Composer/songwriter Eric Myers has been teaching, writing and performing music for over 20 years. Having co-managed San Francisco-based Melody of China for over 15 years and founding Goldrush School of Music in 2016, Eric is getting back to writing and producing his own music. Classically trained and “rock-seasoned”, Eric has created music in different genres, from classical compositions to world, folk and indie rock.
Eric’s work with Melody of China (2006-present) yielded several pieces he composed for the ensemble including “Meandering Streams” (2007) “Butterfly’s Beginnings” (2008) and “Standing at the Gate” (2012) all performed on traditional Chinese instruments. Then, in 2013, he released his first album, “Static Planet”, a collection of classical and jazz/world-inspired piano pieces. “Static Planet” is currently live on Spotify.
Between 2015 and 2020, Eric was busy starting a family and getting his music school, Goldrush School of Music, established. GSM is a music lesson studio in Blairsville, Ga where folks of any age and level can come to learn a variety of instruments. 2021 saw the release of Eric’s second album, “Be”, a meditative, nature-inspired set featuring acoustic guitar, ukulele, shakers, bongos and lush layered vocals.
Eric is about to release his third album which highlights his knack for introspective lyrics and catchy melodies, featuring bass, drums, guitars (acoustic, electric), keys, synths and warm vocals.
