Composer, producer & singer Eric SERRA, world-renowned for his film scores (Luc Besson, James Bond…) returns with Space Projekt U.M.O., the story of an imaginary voyage through space aboard the ISS. For four decades, Eric Serra music has orbited within an imaginary galaxy made of films, journeys, and encounters. It is therefore no surprise that today, he has chosen to lead a musical project inspired by his fascination with space and his special relationship with prominent astronauts. His new album, a hypnotic interstellar cruise, will take listeners on a journey starting January 16th. A solitary child, Eric Serra grew up in the south of France, oscillating between his two passions: nature & music. The 80s would be marked by two decisive encounters. First with poet & rock star Higelin, then French director Luc Besson. Between these two prodigies, the connection was immediate. Together, they defined the visual and sonic aesthetic of several generations. Subway, The Big Blue, Nikita, Leon, The Fifth Element—all became box-office sensations. The composer’s discography also includes a James Bond soundtrack, a Cirque du Soleil collab, compositions for others & the solo album RXRA. Today, the musician has turned toward a new source of inspiration : space. It seemed inevitable that Eric Serra would one day conceive a project as cosmic as this one.
