ETC - Combining the likes of Queen and Brian May with the Anthemic South Yorkshire sound of the Arctic Monkeys.
Escape The Curfew originally formed in the summer of 2022, under a different name, performing covers of the <a href="spotify:artist:7Ln80lUS6He07XvHI8qqHH" data-name="Arctic Monkeys">Arctic Monkeys</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2xaAOVImG2O6lURwqperlD" data-name="Catfish and the Bottlemen">Catfish and the Bottlemen</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3RHoFGKe6KE3LLml7ujPKJ" data-name="The Reytons">The Reytons</a>, in small bars and venues across South Yorkshire.
One year later, in the summer of 2023, the band decided to make the switch from covers to original music, under the name Escape The Curfew.
Since, they’ve performed in London, Manchester, Lincoln, and Sheffield and have headlined The Leopard in Doncaster with a full venue.
It’s hard to pinpoint where the band is from.
ETC consists of Rafael Richardson (Raf) on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Charlie Hargrave on bass, who are both from Doncaster.
James Genty, the band’s drummer, hails from Wakefield, and their lead guitarist, James Watling, is from Manchester.
Prior to Charlie joining the band, Harry Beever, of Rotherham, played bass in Escape The Curfew. He recorded the bass for the band’s debut single, Devil’s Advocate, which amassed 100,000 streams within less than a month.
