Esmae

With distinct pop sensibilities and a host of diverse life experiences to channel into her lyrics, Esmae draws upon her love of old-school R&B and new-school dance for her music to produce a unique and timeless sound. Writing from the age of 16, each song is a snippet into Esmae’s life, taking her listener’s on a relatable journey which is refreshingly easy to dive straight into.


Organic and heartfelt, ‘Had It All’ poured out of Esmae in a single session. “As soon as I began writing, I couldn’t stop” she laughs. The song details the painful reality of walking away from a relationship which had the unrealised potential of being everything. Finding comfort in sharing her music with an eager audience, Esmae now knows that she needs to stop sitting on the songs written privately. This has resulted in an upcoming 5-track debut EP, ‘Do Better’.


From her debut single earlier this year, Esmae has seen incredible support already. Achieving over 56,000 streams on Spotify, over 500,000 streams individually on Soundcloud and Youtube, and support from BBC Introducing, we are excited to see what Esmae’s 2021/22 will look like.
