Ethic Entertainment pooled together the talents of four solo artists to pioneer a new form of music called Gengetone. Gengetone chose specific elements of rap, reggaeton, and dancehall and combined them with a hard-hitting singing style that was born in the streets of Kenya. Ethic Entertainment were among the first to break through with this style, embodying Gengetone with a string of singles like 2020's "Daktari."

Ethic Entertainment formed in 2018 when Rekles, Swat Mtoto wa Eunice, Seska, and Zilla joined forces for the collaborative song "Lamba Lolo." Each had been working solo prior that, but their joint venture was so successful that they shifted their focus to collective output. Over the next two years, Ethic Entertainment released multiple singles. Their popularity grew as they rose up alongside other Gengetone artists such as Zzero Sufuri and Ochungulo Family and their collaboration with Boondocks Gang on 2019 joint single "Thao" was a massive hit for both parties, its video streaming millions of times. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
