Eva McBel moved to Madrid at 18, her career began to take off slowly as she played many of Madrid’s most emblematic venues. Her first EP, 'Some Kind of Portrait'. Writing mainly in English, and garnering musical references that spanned from Jacob Banks to The Lumineers, the record gained international recognition, appearing on an Australian TV show to appearing on the US radio or other TV series like 'Neighbours', 'Élite', ‘The Ferragnez’...
From there, it was McBel’s live performances that cemented her reputation. She has supported renowned musicians like Paolo Nutini and Dean Lewis, bringing her unique sound to their audiences, and played some of Spain’s most prestigious festivals, including San San Festival and Sonorama, as well as Germany's esteemed Reeperbahn Festival.
All of this experience and creativity channeled into preparing her debut album, ‘I’m Glad You Happened’, which proudly reviews her life journey to culminate in an exciting and carefully thought-out pop record. Taking the listener on a path through the corners of emotional responsibility and the artist’s roots. Without sacrificing passion or honesty, McBel expresses regret and spite, family wounds, and the difficulties of loving today with a fresh perspective, one that encourages keeping both feet on the ground when dealing with others. Life lessons taught most tenderly and intelligently possible, she explores new avenues in her productions, without losing the musicality and songwriting at her core.
