A leading light in Malaysia’s music scene, Ewal’s intimate vocal style, hard hitting production and personally fueled lyrics have earned him international recognition. Since breaking through with his first album official releases in 2009, he has been steadily evolving as an artist, showing the ability to radically reimagine his genre in his own image.

Ewal first attracted attention by taking third place on Akademi Fantasia 2014. He quickly used this newfound success as a springboard for his solo career.

Several acclaimed covers, original releases, a successful collaboration, ‘RANIA’ & ‘STUCK’ with U.S producer George Landress and world tours followed, eventually leading to Ewal relocating to Los Angeles to take his career to new levels in 2010-2012.

But when his blossoming career ground to a halt due to the pandemic in 2020 and other personal setbacks, he retreated to R&B & City Pop music to contemplate his next move.

Ewal spent 2020 looking deeply within himself to determine who he wants to be as an artist and what kind of impact he wants to have on the world. His newest music shows a maturing artist realizing the power of his voice through a sense of introspection and personal connection. Inspired by a rapidly changing world and his own experience in life as a young artist, he is poised to be a vital voice in R&B for years to come.
