Growing up in rural upstate New York, Toronto-based artist Ezra Glatt has always been surrounded by music. Swapping the violin for the guitar, he started writing songs in high school after discovering bands like The Beach Boys and The Beatles. When he dropped out of university, he was determined to give music his all. Building a studio in his basement, Ezra’s self-produced alternative folk began to take form. Inspired by heavy hitters like Sufjan Stevens and Nick Drake, he’s not afraid to experiment creating rich yet delicate, dreamy soundscapes to surround his introspective and existential lyrics.
