He began playing music at an early age and performing during his school days. Faizan later formed the rock band Elision and established himself as the group’s guitarist and lead singer. Elision was a winner in a Battle of the Bands competition held in Kashmir, and Faizan also won the Best Guitarist award in the same competition. Elision’s first album, Teri Yaad, was released in 2011 to critical acclaim, including a nomination in the HornBill International Rock Fest, but the band dissolved in 2012.

He also created radio jingles and music for ad agencies and multimedia companies. He classifies his music as Folk Fusion—a blend of traditional and modern music influences.
