Blending the sonics of Dancehall, Reggae and Hip-Hop with his own style and his characteristic deep voice, recording artist Fats is one of the core figures of Brooklyn’s dancehall scene since the 2000’s. The iconic single “Real Badman” became a Brooklyn anthem and generated a lot of attention across the globe. The single was played on radio stations like Hot 97 and at soundclashs such as <a href="spotify:artist:738wLrAtLtCtFOLvQBXOXp" data-name="Major Lazer">Major Lazer</a>’s “Quarantine Clash”.
Fats was born in Kingston, Jamaica, before he and his family moved to New York City. As a youngster growing up in in Brooklyn during the 90’s he started making music after being inspired by visiting the rap cyphers in the infamous Tilden Park in Brooklyn. Continuing to build his brand on bassy vocals and representing his neighborhood with a view from the streets, Fats started to release singles and
collaborated with other artist such as the legendary <a href="spotify:artist:3j7Sw80qzL2FJlryUhI3wG" data-name="Shabba Ranks">Shabba Ranks</a> the recognizable single “Bun Up”.
In 2021 he released his EP “Brooklyn Garrison” after he teamed up with Germany’s upcoming producers <a href="spotify:artist:5QmxKaXjvbOK3y6wnKWeit" data-name="Trigga Happy">Trigga Happy</a>. The project featured the sound from dark New York drill to current Jamaican dancehall. Fats rounded out the EP with the collaboration with reggae singer <a href="spotify:artist:61meTZVdfRrHMotU1AJipD" data-name="Pressure Busspipe">Pressure Busspipe</a> on the calling song “Brooklyn Garrison”.
