California psych-rock outfit Feeding People were formed in 2010 by Orange County singer/songwriter/natural frontwoman <a href="spotify:artist:0v58BrWrSFrbHfCt4mrGgE">Jessie Jones</a>, whose alternately sensual and explosive vocals fall somewhere between <a href="spotify:artist:00FQb4jTyendYWaN8pK0wa">Lana Del Ray</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3wNX7r7t4Vaahrx9XzyYIY">Grace Slick</a>. Employing a sound that drew from the apocalyptic wailing of <a href="spotify:artist:7xYxgSJaIf7yOFLmknYX38">the 13th Floor Elevators</a>, the moody atmospherics of <a href="spotify:artist:5e9048O5CDVvCgSmUEJA06">Esben and the Witch</a>, and the progressive noise rock of <a href="spotify:artist:5STSToEYfQLtd4LZ3dvQDM">Crystal Antlers</a>, the band released an eponymous debut album on vinyl through <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Burger+Records%22">Burger Records</a> in 2011. Produced by <a href="spotify:artist:1HCdPZB0ypEcpDo4T55sMi">Hanni El Khatib</a> and Jonny Bell (<a href="spotify:artist:5STSToEYfQLtd4LZ3dvQDM">Crystal Antlers</a>), the Island Universe EP was issued by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Innovative+Leisure%22">Innovative Leisure</a> in 2013. While the EP was well received by critics and fans, Feeding People broke up in 2013, and after briefly walking away from music, <a href="spotify:artist:0v58BrWrSFrbHfCt4mrGgE">Jessie Jones</a> launched a solo career in 2015. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
