The history of the band Feles Mortis began in 2021 in Bucha, in the centre of Ukraine.
Having at that time only an acoustic guitar, the idea creator and author - Eugene Yevsikov (Dekadant) - tried to write songs for the "trial" band David Key.
The band's music was an attempt to write poems in English and rearrange chords to create interesting harmonies. To summarise, it was an antifolk, acoustic rock.
Soon Eugene got acquainted with the world of metal music. Bands such as Black Sabbath, Tool, Burzum and others would shape some aspects of Feles Mortis' music.
More and more Dekadant found an outlet in black metal. Nocturnal Depression, Darkthrone, минута агонии, Hulder were what inspired the creation of Feles Mortis.
In 2022 a demo album is recorded, under the sounds of rockets and blackouts, the sound and themes of which varied from raw black to light melodic gothic rock.
In 2023 the debut album "Eternity of Love and Sadness" is recorded. A style was taking shape.
In 2024 an album "Forgotten Winter" dedicated to the two-year anniversary of the Ukrainian-Russian war was recorded.
In 2024, the third album "Beautiful Angel Who Overcame the Darkness" was released, dedicated to one special person.
The music of Feles Mortis is not outright black metal. It's a mixture of melancholy with crazy dancing, sadness and eternal themes in love, beauty and horror.
