Fender Jones is first and foremost a storyteller, and the way he tells stories about himself and the people in his life are through his songs and music. He brings a unique perspective to his music, drawing inspiration from the hidden corners of his place in the world and the people who inhabit them.
His second album, I Breathe and I Burn, released July 2024, features 10 stories presented as songs. He continues his use of music as a way to make sense of the world and his place in it.
On Reflection and Echo, released in 2023, Fender showcased his skills as a songwriter and storyteller, weaving genuine tales of heartache, confession, longing, hope, regret, and just a little cynicism at times.
Drawing on a diverse range of influences, Fender's sound crosses genres with roots in Americana, country, rock, blues, and folk music. His music is a testament to Fender's dedication to his craft as a songwriter, singer, and guitar player. The caliber of the songs is matched by the caliber of the professionals Fender gathered around him for this debut album, including his band The Lung Machine, and also with professionals who have worked with Neil Young, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, and REM all contributing to his albums.
