Fine Place is a dystopian electronic post-punk project formed by the Brooklyn-based duo of Frankie Rose and Matthew Hord. Their 2021 debut, This New Heaven, is filled with icy, shimmering synths and reverb-heavy vocals.

Formerly known as a member of Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Beverly, and Dum Dum Girls, Frankie Rose has moved from indie pop and garage rock to new wave and synth pop with her work as part of Frankie Rose and the Outs and her solo albums. Matthew Hord has played in several garage punk and noise-rock bands, including Heavy Times, Running, and Pop. 1280. After Hord moved from Chicago to New York, the two musicians decided to work together and explore different directions than their respective projects. Influenced by '80s goth rock and post-punk, the two produced shadowy, synth-driven music heavy on drum machines and vocal effects. Fine Place's debut album, This New Heaven, was released by Night School in 2021. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
