Fixation, the award-winning Norwegian metalcore sensation, emerged in 2020 with their explosive debut EP Global Suicide. Since then, they’ve carved a unique space in heavy music, blending raw intensity with catchy melodies and a powerful sound.
Their latest release, Speak in Tongues, marks a new high in their groundbreaking career. In 2024, Fixation made history by winning Breakthrough of the Year at the Norwegian Publishing Awards, as well as a Song of the Year nomination for Ignore the Disarray. These historic recognitions are notable, as no metal band had previously been nominated for or won these awards.
The Breakthrough of the Year award came as a result of the band’s rapid rise, positioning them as one of the most promising newcomers in the genre. In 2023, they released their debut album and performed over 60 international shows with acts like Devin Townsend, Imminence, and Annisokay. Their dynamic live performances have earned them spots at Europe’s top festivals, including Tons of Rock, The Great Escape, Summer Breeze Open Air, Tuska, Masters of Rock, Eurosonic, and Download Festival.
