After the intense boredom of high school, Joachim Johnsen, aka Fleet Merridew, started to produce music as a hobby just like any other bedroom producers. He started his career under the artist name «Your Captain Merridew» and focused in the dubstep genre. He ceased all music production in late 2012 and made a «comeback» in June 2014 under the artist name «Fleet Merridew». With his characteristic red hoodie, blue jeans and his motto "NU KJØR VI!", he’s not hard to recognize.
In March 2015, Merridew released his first «Russelåt» to the russebus «The Golden Snitch 2015» and later to the russevan «Conmen 2015». These two songs were picked out and put in rotation on Radio NRJ Norway’s own russelåt channel «NRJ Russeradio». This gave Merridew the little exposure enough to produce more songs for russ to come.
Today Merridew is the one half of the producer duo Jørgen & Pubert and working on other projects that are better than before.
