Forest Myles would like to think that his musical journey began before he was born. In reality, it was a ride with his father to Dora’s Little Schoolhouse, a daycare in Houston, TX, that sparked his passionate love for music. “After about the 46-47 second mark of ‘So Many Tears’ by Tupac, there is a harmonica introduced into the beat. Intrigued at witnessing what that harmonica did to my fathers actions and movements after he heard it and processed it, I had an early hint of what I would be doing for the rest of my life. I knew at that moment I wanted to make people move and feel things, the same way that my father felt that harmonica.”
Since that day it has been a vow of Forest Myles’ to blend, and transcend sound like so many musical giants before himself. The influences of this old soul are high and low, far and wide, possessing an eclectic taste and appreciation for antiques and classics as well as new ideas and point of views. “True expression is the objective, and there is no right or wrong way to achieve this.”
