The Hollywood Hills-born daughter of a horror filmmaker and sister of a cult comedian, Foxtails front-girl Laura Weinbach grew up in a household that embraced eccentricity. Her next-door neighbors were circus contortionists and her childhood activities included snail hunting and spying on obscure celebrity neighbors. Laura’s quirky upbringing is present everywhere in Foxtails Brigade, from the unconventional riffs to the hand-drawn artwork.
After moving to the San Francisco in 2009, Weinbach started her band with a troupe of like-minded misfits. They have been a staple of the Bay Area music scene ever since, known for their clockwork beats, warped orchestral sonics, and Laura’s distinctive voice and guitar style.
