Frank Gappa is a Chicago-based indie rock singer/songwriter whose sound blends guitar-driven urgency with emotional clarity. Raised in a small farm town in northeast Wisconsin, he discovered music through the radio, drawing early inspiration from bands like Green Day and Dashboard Confessional before picking up a guitar at age 12 with dreams of starting a band and moving to a big city. That instinct carried him through years living and working in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, and now Chicago, where he fully stepped into his identity as a solo artist.

His 2020 single “Clown Shoes,” created with Eric Sanderson, helped define the textured indie rock foundation he continues to build on, while his 2024 full-length *Let Me Show You My Jean Jacket* showcased a more stripped-down and mature songwriting approach. With his upcoming EP *Slow Dancers*, Gappa merges that restraint with the punch and experimentation of his earlier work, marking the start of a new era as he writes, performs, and establishes himself in Chicago’s indie rock scene.
